Integral Group is providing mechanical design and sustainability services to this dramatic ‘urban village’ mixed-use development. The development will consist of three podiums and a 500 ft. tall tower. The tower will be 450,000 sq. ft. of residential on podium 1, which will be 303,650 sq. ft. with housing, daycare, retail, a gym and a pool. Podiums 2 and 3 will be 71,000 sq. ft. and 81,000 sq. ft. with office and retail space. The whole project is targeting LEED ND Platinum, and the main tower is also separately targeting LEED Platinum Certification.
Integral Group has provided overall strategic advice for sustainability outcomes which include: A campus energy strategy that lowers overall energy demand and optimizes the use of waste heat on site. A water reuse strategy that will integrate the use of rainwater, and grey water in both irrigation and for non-potable applications. An urban agriculture plan that incorporates both walls and rooftops to grow food for both residents and urban wildlife. Finally a transportation strategy that favours walking but also offers both car and bike sharing programs, as well as both public and private electric vehicle charging stations.
