Lick-Wilmerding High School Renovation and Expansion
Lick-Wilmerding High School is a private K-12 institution with a public-focused purpose. Built in the mid 1950’s, the school is located on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco.
The renovation and expansion design goals included creating a new front lobby, adding classrooms and learning laboratories, and expanding interior hallways. The project also involved revamping the façade, using transparent glass to reflect an open and vibrant leaning environment.
Integral Group provided full MEP design services, replacing all pre-existing systems to help achieve Lick-Wilmerding’s high sustainability goals. Those goals include LEED Platinum, Living Building Challenge, and Net Positive Energy, where the structure produces more energy than consuming in a monitored 12-month period.
The project was awarded the Center for the Built Environment’s Livable Building Award, which celebrates “projects that demonstrate excellence in architecture, sustainability and occupant satisfaction.”
