Introba is providing mechanical, medical gasses, electrical, communications, fire protection, lighting design, technology, security, vertical transportation, and sustainability services for the Herston Quarter Health Precinct in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

Managed by Australian Unity as a Public Private Partnership, Metro North Hospital, and Health Service will be overseeing the transformation of Herston Quarter, Queensland, Australia, into a mixed-use community hub catering to health, residential, commercial, and retail developments.

With major projects come major challenges. Connectivity across the precinct was the primary objective and a demanding aspect of the Herston Quarter project. The design of the Surgical, Treatment, and Rehabilitation Services (STaRS) building required the facility to stand remote from the existing hospital campus while meeting the emerging ICT requirements for digital hospitals. To achieve this, Introba (formerly Integral Group) established a standalone Engineering Services Network, integrating a wide range of network-based services throughout the building and connectivity across the campus.

The project design includes a range of health, education, and commercial infrastructure, large public spaces, and a sky bridge to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. This leading-edge project will complement the world-class health, education, and research facility, creating a thriving community hub.
