Colgate University Robert Ho Science Center

The Robert H. N. Ho Science Center is an interdisciplinary scientific research that is more than twice the size of any other structure on campus. The Science Center will house the environmental studies program, the departments of geography, geology, physics and astronomy, and part of the biology department. The Center includes a 96-seat lecture hall, a 55-seat 3D visualization lab that allows students to tour a human blood cell or watch the birth of a star within a dark nebula. The Science Center also contains a teaching greenhouse, a rooftop weather station, and an analytical lab with advanced instrumentation.

The building MEP systems included variable volume lab air systems, multiple water and gas utility systems lines, and flexible power, lighting and wireless data access. The building design also addressed vibration isolation and control issues. Integral Group was selected to provide design peer review services and to act as the commissioning agent for the project. Integral Group began the commissioning during the project design.
