Ted is a Principal with Integral Group, where he brings over 35 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. Ted’s career in construction started early on as a journeyman carpenter, later growing into a field superintendent and then a preconstruction manager. This direct experience with sustainable construction, paired with a complementary appreciation of art and design, helps Ted to bridge any communication gaps that can arise between disciplines. In his role with Integral Group, Ted focuses on creating and maintaining trust with clients to help ensure the success of Integral Group’s largest projects.
Ted’s mantra is “we don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, but rather we borrow it from our children”. It is this philosophy that drives his work every day. After attending a sustainable design conference 20 years ago, Ted was inspired to engage with the US Green Building Council. He has served three terms on the USGBC National Board of Directors, during which the LEED Rating System was developed and launched. Ted currently serves on the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) Board of Directors.
During his nearly twenty-year tenure with DPR Construction, Ted served as the thought leader in sustainability, steering the company towards more sustainable construction practices which resulted in multiple Zero Net Energy Certified buildings. His great attention to detail and focus in preconstruction services set projects up for successful outcomes. He also has a long history with Integral Group, having collaborated on multiple Integral Group projects, including the David and Lucile Packard Foundation Headquarters and DPR’s San Francisco offices at 945 Front Street.
