Integral Group celebrates National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) award winners and nominees for their contributions to Women in the Construction Industry at the 2022 NAWIC awards. 

Six Integral Group staff in Australia have been nominated this year for National Women in Construction Association (NAWIC) Awards.  NAWIC is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to promote and improve the construction industry through the advancement of women.

The NAWIC Awards showcase achievements and industry advancements of members and organizations in the construction industry. NAWIC holds many events throughout the year to assist women in the industry through personal and business networking, industry awareness, enhancement of skills and knowledge base, and encouragement to pursue and establish careers in construction.

Congratulations to finalists, Tatiana Schonhobel and Andrew Mather, and nominees Kavita Gusain, Kim Nguyen, Keeley O’Reilly, and Melissa Nouel.  Read more about each of them and their nomination categories below:

Tatianas

TATIANA SCHONHOBEL | FINALIST | FUTURE LEADER AWARD, NEW SOUTH WALES

Tatiana is a creative designer with a vision to transform cities and organizations. She is deeply inspired by the opportunity to rethink the status quo and integrate natural systems into our cities and processes. Tatiana has experience in implementing sustainability strategies for the built environment: delivering advisory, analytics, and certification services globally. Highlights in her current role as a senior consultant are the delivery of design analytics for urban renewal with one of the largest tech companies in the United States and her involvement in the sustainability strategy for major precincts in Sydney. Tatiana is also actively working to develop ESG strategies for large organizations.

Andrew-Mather-

ANDREW MATHER | FINALIST | MALE CHAMPION OF CHANGE, NEW SOUTH WALES

Over his 40 years of professional experience, Andrew has passionately advocated for diversity in the industry. He has encouraged and supported a range of women to achieve their professional goals to be employed and promoted into leadership positions. Andrew is currently active in Integral Group’s Global and Australian Diversity and Inclusion Council driving change through establishing return-to-work and flexible working policies. He also avidly supports the 50/50 gender balance on recruitment, promotion, and event attendance lists.

Kavita-Gusain

KAVITA GUSAIN | NOMINEE | EMERGING LEADER AWARD, VICTORIA

Kavita leads and encourages her team and clients to push their sustainability targets, achieving exciting results. She led the sustainability team in achieving The University of Melbourne’s first 6-star GreenStar certified project and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of sustainable design and net-zero emissions.

Kim-Nguyen

KIM NGUYEN | NOMINEE | YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD, VICTORIA

As well as her expertise in applying design analytics to provide meaningful design advice backed by empirical data, Kim is engaged with multiple ongoing initiatives related to supporting young women in STEM, community outreach, and engagement with Indigenous groups.

Keeley-OReilly

KEELEY O’REILLY | NOMINEE | COMMUNICATIONS, STAKEHOLDER & MEDIA MANAGEMENT AWARD, VICTORIA

In collaboration with key leadership and staff, Keeley developed and implemented an 18-month communications plan including a staged brand transition from Umow Lai to Integral Group focused on the internal messages for staff and stakeholders and the external messages for clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Melissa-Nouel

MELISSA NOUEL | NOMINEE |  CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABILITY AWARD, NEW SOUTH WALES

Melissa studied architecture in her home country of Venezuela, graduating in 2008. While planning her move to Australia, the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico sparked her passion for sustainability, inspiring her to pursue a sustainability master’s at the University of New South Wales. She wakes up every day fuelled by the motivation to drive positive change, help others navigate challenges, and ultimately make the world a better place.
