Modello Wins Urban Development Institute Award for Excellence

Urban Development Institute announced its 2018 UDI Awards for Excellence. The awards highlight low- to high-rise, commercial and mixed-use developments situated across the province of British Columbia, and are recognized by peers in the urban development industry.

Boffo Developments Ltd. were among this year’s Award of Excellence recipients for the Modello development.  Located minutes from the new Beresford Art Walk and Central Park in Burnaby, BC, the Modello Residence features 165 units spanning through 37 floors, built atop a four storey commercial podium. The development contains a geothermal heating system which lowers the building’s energy consumption and costs. Unit-specific thermal metering also provides the energy-saving benefits while offering tenants customizable temperature controls. Additional building features include LED lighting installed throughout, and central data media boxes implemented in each suite for ease of communication and entertainment functions.
