Hotel Nia at Menlo Gateway, located in the hub of the Silicon Valley, achieved a LEED Silver certification. The four-star luxury hotel is part of the 15.9-acre, 1 million ft² Menlo Gateway development. It will include 250 rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.

From start to finish, the project incorporated sustainable attributes that helped it achieve the certification and maintain a green building. The construction process alone had over 85% waste diversion. Additionally, other features include daylighting in over 75% of occupied spaces and views to the outdoors for over 90% of occupants. The project utilized equipment, including a refrigerant, that poses a lower threat to global warming and an enhanced commissioning process was included to verify proper equipment performance in the building.

Introba (formerly Integral Group) is providing sustainability consulting including energy, water and waste strategies and benchmarking, as well as full engineering services to the developer for the project and worked closely with Cunningham Group Architecture.

Menlo Gateway Independence offices, a part of the overall development, also received LEED Gold Certification earlier this year.
