Integral Group Receives Four AIA 2020 Design Awards

AIA California has announced its winners for the 2020 Design Awards and Integral Group was involved with 4 of the 15 projects recognized. The Design Awards seek to promote, recognize, publicize, and celebrate the value exceptional design has on society. This year’s winners include the following projects from Integral Group:

Award for Merit & Leading Edge | Moscone Convention Center

Integral Group’s team of LEED Consultants worked very closely with the GBCI review team, as this project was extremely complex with regards to it’s LEED Project Boundary and multi-phased schedule.Moscone is the highest-scoring LEED-NC v2009 Certified convention center in the world, with 90 points of a possible 110. It is also the first LEED v2009 BD+C New Construction Platinum Certified convention center in the world. Integral collaborated with SOM Architects and Webcor on this fantastic project

Award for Merit | Lick-Wilmerding High School

Integral Group provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services, replacing all pre-existing systems to help achieve Lick-Wilmerding’s high sustainability goals. Those goals include LEED Platinum, Living Building Challenge, and Net Positive Energy. Integral is proud to have worked with EHDD Architecture on this project.

Award for Merit | Cal Poly Pomona Student Services Building

Teamed with CO Architects, Integral Group provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing daylight modeling, energy modeling, and sustainability consulting on this unique project. Integral was instrumental in guiding the building orientation and application of a high-efficiency building envelope to optimize energy efficiency opportunities, maximize daylighting, reduce mechanical systems reliance, and optimize thermal comfort.

Award for Merit | UCLA Ostin Basketball Center

For this project with Kevin Daly Architects, Integral Group provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for the conceptual design phase of the project, in addition to lighting design, daylighting design, and sustainability consulting. Our designers assisted the client in outlining potential passive and active low-energy strategies, and guiding exterior façade and interior organization for optimal ways to capture light, natural airflows and thermal energy.
