Every year, the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects awards projects with outstanding design devoted to enhancing the built environment. Overcoming challenges, utilizing space, and creating unique designs are all criteria taken into consideration.

Forge Craft Architecture was one of fourteen architects to receive an AIA Austin Design Award out of 146 entries in the Austin, Texas area for its Bluebonnet Studios project.

This four-story building provides commercial space on the ground level with 107 affordable residential units above. With a focus on sustainability, this project targets reaching Zero Net Energy certification through International Living Future Institute (ILFI). Features like ventilated air and strategic glazing reduce energy usage. As a high-performance, 24/7 accessible building, this project was designed to minimizes fossil fuel production while catering to both commercial and residential needs and upholding necessary codes.

Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided sustainability consulting and energy modeling for this project. Using previous projects as a guide, actual building usage was able to be modeled.
