The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Committee on the Environment (COTE) have announced the 2019 winners for the COTE Top Ten Awards. The COTE Top Ten program recognizes projects that meet rigorous criteria for social, economic, and ecological value that is set by the AIA Committee on the Environment. Among the winners is the Amherst College New Science Center. Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided integrated sustainable design services for this new science building.

The undergraduate science center for Amherst College is approximately 250,000 square feet and includes laboratories, offices, multipurpose classrooms, informal meeting spaces, greenhouse space, and a library. The College sought to push the envelope in high performance building design by collaborating with the Architect, Payette, and the rest of the design team to develop and analyze both active and passive strategies to lower energy consumption. Introba is proud to have worked with Payette on this award-winning project.
