Vineyard Primary School

Vineyard Primary School project extends an existing primary school from 2- to 3-form entry. This comprised the construction of six new classrooms, an extension to the existing main hall, new purpose-built dedicated administration areas, and three specialist teaching rooms. The specialist teaching rooms include a learning difficulties classroom, an art classroom, and a science hub. An unused courtyard area was used as the location of the new science hub, which will be a demonstration teaching laboratory for the students and require bespoke services for school science applications.

Elementa Consulting provided all the mechanical, electrical, and public health services, including the sustainable strategy design, dynamic thermal modeling, daylighting analysis, and BREEAM assessment targeting a Very Good rating. The building is being designed to Part L regulations with a fabric-first passive approach. We are incorporating various consequential improvements as part of the works, including replacing the existing boiler plant, upgrading existing building fabric, and extending the current building services to cater to the new extension.

Elementa Consulting was an integral part of the design team from conception and has had considerable input on all aspects of the extension design.
