Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the NoMa (North of Massachusetts Avenue) submarket is an emerging neighborhood adjacent to the US capitol. Occupying the top two and a half floors, the historic building was originally built as a warehouse facility with floor plates of 50,000 ft² with two elevator lobbies.

In support of the goal of a collaborative and light-filled environment, the design team utilized the existing 50,000 ft² floor plates and placed the conference spaces and social centers at the center of the floor plate. Clear travel paths organized the workspaces into workstations, with collaborative spaces and natural lighting. Integral Group provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services, extending the base building MEP systems to accommodate the needs of the EEOC.
