First-Ever Vancouver Urban Design Awards: The Results are In!


The City of Vancouver Urban Design Awards took place for the first time ever on September 15, 2014 at VanDusen Botanical Garden. “Our Urban Design Award recipients are excellent examples of how innovative and imaginative design complements Vancouver’s natural beauty,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson. “Vancouver’s designers are now renowned across the globe, and their extraordinary work greatly enhances the vibrancy and livability of our city.”

Ten projects were recognized for representing Vancouver’s high standard of innovation in architecture and design.

Cactus Club Café at English Bay was the recipient in the Commercial Buildings category, design by Acton Ostry Architects. Integral Group provided mechanical engineering and energy modeling consulting services for this project.

6th& Fir was selected as the winner in the Large Residential Buildings category. Integral Group provided mechanical and electrical engineering consulting services for this building, designed by Henriquez Partners Architects.
