Elementa’s World Green Building Week Event – LETI Report Launch

Elementa is to host their 4th consecutive annual World Green Building Week event, launching the next phase of the ‘Getting to Zero’ campaign – a report detailing the London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI) working groups outputs.

World Green Building Week brings together Green Building Councils from around the world to create a public conversation about the role buildings plays in our sustainable future. The annual event empowers the green building community to deliver green buildings for everyone, everywhere. This week will take place from 25th – 29th September, where the theme ‘Our Hero is Zero’, has been chosen by WorldGBC to raise awareness of the ambition to make all buildings net-zero by 2050.

The theme complements the initiative we have been campaigning throughout the year, to ‘Fix London’s Energy Policy’ – enabling a zero-emissions future for London. The first ‘Getting to Zero’ report was authored following a successful workshop in May, that brought together over 100 diverse construction industry professionals to develop collaborative energy policy recommendations for a zero-emissions Capital. The report was published and submitted to the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority (GLA) this July.

The London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI) was established following the workshop. Subsequently, four LETI working groups formed focusing on the key priorities that emerged. These working groups will translate ideas into tangible evidence-based recommendations for energy policy. The four priorities are:

  1. – Data Disclosure – Leader, Adam Mactavish – Currie & Brown
  2. – Better Performance Metrics – Leader, Thomas Lefevre – Etude
  3. – Decarbonising Heating and Energy – Leader, Amanda Stevenson – Capitals and Counties
  4. – Delivery Mechanisms – Leader, Stephen Kent – CBRE

Our event on 26th September will see each working group leader summarise their detailed robust recommendations for energy policy change. If you would like to find out more information or are interested in attending our World Green Building Week event, please contact Clara at [email protected]

We are also publishing a list of organizations that support LETI. The logos of these organizations will be displayed at the ‘Getting to zero’ event in Word Green Building Week and be presented to the GLA when we submit the working group outputs in September.
