How We’re Different
Though we’re still a relatively small firm, we compete and win against much larger firms who now offer sustainable and green design. We differ from the others in our commitment and focus – we’re passionate about sustainable design. We basically want to effect a fundamental change in building practices, one project at a time. Our CEO, Kevin Hydes, is well known locally and nationally as a leading proponent of sustainable and energy efficient design. All of our projects have a green, sustainable, or energy efficient focus.
What We’re Looking For
The qualities we’re looking for in new team members are: passion; curiosity; willingness to constantly learn about sustainable design; an understanding of clients’ needs and budgetary restraints; technical skills; familiarity with the latest design tools and HVAC and plumbing solutions; and a desire to make a contribution to the bigger picture.
A Creative Environment
We have five office locations: downtown Oakland, CA; New York City; Alexandria and Richmond VA; and Raleigh NC. W run totally green offices, and are conscious of the simple ways in which we can build a better environment and save energy. We have complete recycling and composting programs. Most of our offices are bike-friendly and easily accessible to public transporation.
